Now a project called Congregate.

Congregate was a social network enabled visualizer designed for the IXDA2008 Conference. It works by reading rss feeds from popular event, social networking, photo and mobile sites that have tag feeds.

Congregate is a way for people participating in an event to view information and view group information

From the concept document:

"Congregate is a way for conference attendees and people interested in conference activity to see content relevant to the conference,
This Flash-based application will gather rss feeds from Flickr, Twitter and Crush3r and display them.
Animated bubbles will display the content as it appears.

ON CONFERENCE SITE:
Internet access will be required to run the web-based application. It should show from a projector on a wall or surface in a central, common area at the conference. Ideally it can also show on monitors in-between talks. "
