Ameboa Listening Station

Quite possibly the worst UI to ever foul the planet.
Do you know what is playing?
Do you know how to forward to the next song?
Do you know what the hell is going on here?
Noooo..
Neither do I
Neither did any of the kids I polled at the listening station.
This is not an interface - it is an abomination.
I end at Ameoba almost every saturday and this is driving me insane...
I am almost to the point where I would volunteer to fix this mess.
So in an effort be part of the soultion and not the problem below is my first pass at simplifying this mess..
Imagine:
1. User approaches the kiosk - the Logo is spinning around or something while this is in idle mode..

2. the user puts the CD under the scanner thinny (which is how it works today)
3. Song is found and the music player is activated.

ON THE POD
Coffee & TV - Blur
Do you feel like a chain store?
Practically floored
One of many zeros
Kicked around bored
Your ears are full but you're empty
Holding out your heart
To people who never really
Can help you out
So give me Coffee and TV
History
I've seen so much
I'm going blind
And i'm braindead virtually
Sociability
It's hard enough for me
Take me away from this big bad world
And agree to marry me
So we can start all over again
Do you go to the country
It isn't very far
There's people there who will hurt you
Coz of who you are
Your ears are full of the language
There's wisdom there you're sure
'Til the words start slurring
And you can't find the door
So give me Coffee and TV
History
I've seen so much
I'm going blind
And i'm braindead virtually
Sociability
It's hard enough for me
Take me away from this big bad world
And agree to marry me
So we can start all over again
So give me Coffee and TV
History
I've seen so much
I'm going blind
And i'm braindead virtually
Sociability
It's hard enough for me
Take me away from this big bad world
And agree to marry me
So we can start all over again
Oh...we could start over again
Needle in the Camel's Eye - Brian Eno
Those who know
They don't let it show
They just give you one long life
And you go, oh
Goes to show
How winds blow
The weather's fine
And I feel so so-so, so
Birds of prey
With too much to say
Oh what could be my destiny
Another rainy day
Why ask why?
For by the by and by
All mysteries are just more
Needles in the camel's eye
Those who know
They don't let it show
They just give you one long life
And you go, oh
Why ask why?
For by the by and by
All mysteries are just more
Needles in the camel's eye
