99 Percent Conference

I attended a conference in New York that was centered around taking real, tangible action in creative leadership. Some themes and takeaways:

1. Excellent Creative requires 100% 1% Creativity (this is the talent that you are blessed with and either have it or you don't), and 99% on execution of the idea. Just having an idea or just being creative is not enough; you also have to be able to make that thing come to life and be real and tangible.

You will fail and fail often. That's okay And yes, this will include failure sometimes but it will also be opportunities to learn and be better the next time.

Be your own boss to be the best One of the biggest themes and takeaways from the two days was that not only is possible to earn a living working for yourself, for most your creativity, your livelihood, your talent can wither away and atrophy if you are stagnant.

Find a partner someone to complement your talents, this is true of a work partner or a romantic partner, anyone to help lighten the load and to complement the parts of your skills you can build on.
